| What is up! Welcome to "my" page. This is where I get to tell the world what is on my mind. Sounds interesting doesn't it! This is how it works. You may not know this about me but I have a brain. I've had it all my life. It works good and has never let me down. It can think, it can muse, it wonders, it knows all about me and continuously feeds me new and interesting information. Sometimes this information comes fast and furiously and causes great stress. Well, this internet page will help to alleviate that stress. Here is where I get it all off my brain. Just let it go. Will you learn anything new? Probably not. Will you be enlightened? Probably not. Will you come back and read this again and again. Probably. Why? Because you have a brain as well and it too needs stimulation and information and you will find some small yet satisfying fullfillment by reading about my "BRAIN". Well folks the NHL playoffs are front and center these days and of course like any other God fearing Canadian, I'm watching every game I can. I've missed a few but that's it. The league has eliminated all but four teams now, three US teams and one Canadian. Well low and behold the Canadian team is MY team; The Toronto Maple Leafs. I admit it freely with my chest pumped out and my blue and white, maple leaf embroidered baseball/ hockey cap placed proudly on my hair-flattened head. The leafs have not won the Stanley cup since 1967 and for a storried franchise like the leafs, that is far too long. I know there are a lot of leaf fans out there just like me who have waited most of their lives for a Stanley cup for "OUR" team only to be disappointed again and again. We have come close a few times in the last number of years but never the big prize. I'm getting frustrated!! I'm not getting any younger either. There are other teams out there. The Edmonton Oilers are cool; How about the Avalanche or the Red Wings. They have good teams almost every year. I could jump on their bandwagon, couldn't I??? No, I guess I could not. I've been too faithful for too long to walk away now. If I did they would probably win the cup tommorrow. So no, I'm Staying! For better or worse I'm in. I'm backing my team to the end. I'll defend the Maple Leafs (and my honour) forever. But please don't let me down. There are only four teams left. You can do it. I know you can. I'm not sure I can stand another disappointing end. Well, yes I can, I've done it before and I most likely will again. But like all leaf fans that have stuck by our team decade after decade, I say; This is our year, our cup, our parade, our turn to hold our heads up high and know that we are the best!(at least till next year) 'Till next time; Stay True, Be Strong and Have Faith Tommy John Ehman (posted May 18/2002) |
